Ada Kerkstra & Akko Kalma during their six years sailing around the world on their 40 -foot “White Haze” paid a visit to the Jepara Sailing Club.

THE WHITE HAZE
Dear Joost,
I have read with great interest your various club postings on the Japaradise Sailing Club web site. I can’t recall laughing quite so much for ages. I marvel at your contributors quite massive articles on such outwardly minimal topics. Your club sounds like a place I could gel with readily. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to receive details of “country” membership and an application form.
Some brief details about me:
Age: 60
Current residence: Kuwait
Married to an Indonesian lady
Nationality: Welsh (sort of…. celtic mongrel version)
Water activities: Member of Kuwait Offshore Sailing Association + 1/6th share in Westerly GK24. Own 12ft home-built rowing boat (plywood & epoxy.) Can swim – provided not too many Bintangs loaded. Fishing NO…NEVER… BORING …COMPLETE FAILED!
Future: Expect to take up residence in Kendal, Semarang by 2015 latest (or earlier if I am found out before that date.)
Other liquid activities: Adept home brewer and can make passable home made wine – white and red.
God, this feels like some lonely hearts application.
